Competition Details:
Starts: Thursday 12 February 2025
Ends: Thursday 3 April 2025
Time: Matches start at 4pm & 5pm sharp
 

Venue: Badminton Wellington Centre, 1 Ruahine Street, Hataitai, Wellington
 

Cost: $120 per team (we will invoice you before the end)

Who Can Enter:
Teams must have 3 players minimum — ideally 4–6 for reserves.
Students must be Years 7–8.
Teams are graded: Section A @ 4pm (experienced players) and Section B @ 5pm (beginners level).

We will help to rank players in order of their ability, which must remain the same throughout the competition — reserves must fill in at the lowest spot.

Competition Format:
Week 1: Lessons & Grading
Weeks 2–7: Matches

Week 8: Fun Award Ceremony Tournament with activities and spot prizes.

 

All equipment is provided — students only need clean sports shoes and appropriate sports clothing (no jeans, jandals, coats etc).

 

Umpiring:
Matches are self-umpired by students — Badminton Simplified Rules are available via Youtube. All players must know the basics before competing.

Defaults:
Please only enter committed teams — defaults cause major disruption and should be avoided.

​

Food & Facilities:
Parents and supporters are welcome. Our café will be open during the competition for refreshments — we ask that students only visit when they’re not due to play.
